The City of Lougheed is undergoing a transformation from indoor mall to a new master planned community in Burnaby, BC. When complete, the site will feature up to 23 high-rise towers bringing together a diverse mix of housing options, shopping, and dining options, in close proximity to the Sky Train station.
This redevelopment plan includes approximately 1.4M SF of retail, 1M SF of office space, and a mix of residential housing.
PHASE 1:
Located at the intersection of North Road and Austin Avenue in Coquitlam, BC Phase 1 delivered 1.5M SF of mixed-use development amongst four (4) towers. These towers range from 30 to 55-storeys and sit above a retail podium that encloses an above grade parking structure. Phase 1 brought a mix of market and rental housing and includes a 22,000 SF amenity centre.
PHASE 2:
Building upon Phase 1, Phase 2 expands the community with both high-rise and mid-rise development, retail, and starts the new pedestrian-only spine. Phase 2A is a 43-storey rental tower, including a 2-storey commercial podium located at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Austin Avenue, adjacent to the Millennium Line “Lougheed Town Centre” Sky Train station. Phase 2B will see the addition of 12-storey mid-rise and tower 6, a 46-storey tower, and both of these buildings will share a 3-storey commercial podium. The first segment of the new pedestrian-only spine will begin with tower 6.
Both sub-phases for Phase 2 will share a 3 level below grade parkade with a capacity of over 700 vehicles. Phase 2 provides approximately 1.15M SF of new development.
