West Cost Reduction Ltd. is a Vancouver based, family owned and operated business and is the largest independent renderer in Western Canada. Glotman·Simpson worked with West Coast Reduction at their main Vancouver Plant, and their facilities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
Rendering is a recycling process that involves converting raw materials into useful finished products by first cooking the raw materials and then pressing oil (tallow) out of rendered products before milling them.
Glotman·Simpson was commissioned to provide project management and structural designs for these facilities, in addition to acting as a representative for the owners during the design and construction phases. This included aiding in procurement and coordination of process equipment from various international vendors.
