One of the most powerful forces at work in Nature is that of rebirth. At GlotmanSimpson we applied this axiom to the redevelopment of Shannon Mews. The almost 100-year-old heritage Shannon Mansion needed major structural upgrades. Concrete or steel would have changed the size of the interior walls and decorative ceilings. The developer, however, was determined to leave the building in its historic form. So we laminated carbon fibre on the slabs and selectively upgraded walls instead. This provided the structural support needed without altering the interior dimensions. The result was a building reborn. One fully updated for another generation of occupancy.

Leaf in Stump - every long lived structure holds the capacity to be reborn.
