The Torrey, located at 1200 Front Street in San Diego is a 37-storey mixed-use tower designed on a highly constrained site, with a Whole Foods occupying the base of the tower. To maximize the buildable area, our team engineered a structural system featuring cantilevered outrigger walls and beams that extend more than 25 feet beyond the buildable area. The project utilized performance-based seismic design and was evaluated to very extreme earthquake scenarios, beyond the standard code requirements.
