SoBow is a 694 residence development. The foundations and ground floor podium slab for this project had been previously constructed for different buildings and had been sitting unfinished for over 5 years. Glotman•Simpson designed a new concrete structure to sit on top of the ground floor podium and upgraded the foundations and podium slab as needed. The particular challenge was to optimize the column layout of the buildings above to limit the amount of retrofitting required to the below grade structure.
The development offers a mix of loft studios; one, two and three bedroom homes; two storey townhomes; and penthouse suites. Constructed to BuiltGreen HD certification, the design includes energy-efficient lighting, recycled finishing materials, and high-efficiency windows and glazing.
