At 69,000 SF, this $18 million flagship building in the Richmond Auto Mall is the largest new Lexus facility in North America. LEED Silver certified, the two storey dealership features an on site cafe, 18 service bays, six detail bays, a full second floor with parkade for 37 cars, and rooftop parking for 114 vehicles.
Rooftop parking access is provided by ramps at the rear of the building, bypassing the service and detailing functions. Customers enter the building to a multi-level interior glazed showroom with a second level mezzanine set back away from the glazing and display area.
Site conditions made the installation of in-ground car lifts difficult. A high water table and sandy soils required careful excavation and mounting voided shells for sunken lift equipment. Slabs were cast up to and around the lifts to secure them in place.
