Canada’s Earth Tower

Set to rise approximately 120 metres, the Canada Earth Tower building will become “the world’s tallest hybrid wood tower”. Glotman Simpson is currently retained to provide the structural engineering services on the mixed-use high-performance development in Vancouver that aims to set a new environmental standard for the City of Vancouver. Canada’s Earth Tower at 8th + Pine in Vancouver, BC is a mixed-use hybrid podium and tower project utilizing concrete for the foundation and core of the tower and a mix of cross-laminated timber, glulam timber and dowel-laminated timber for the walls, floor slabs and columns. Encompassing approximately 340,000 square feet, Canada’s Earth Tower will contain approximately 200 apartments, along with shops, restaurants and office space and will be between 35-40-storeys in height.
