Nature’s creations often look impossible to the eye. Good structural engineering can accomplish the same. Take the King George Sky Train Station in Surrey. The eye-catching design called for a building that flared out as it went up. This complex geometry created enormous structural and construction challenges. It required a very precise analysis of horizontal and lateral loads. We maintained the architect’s vision by placing columns around the inside perimeter of the floor. Matching the slope of the building from the inside maintained the elegance of the design, while making it strong enough to resist any lateral movement.

First, you imagine an impossible structure. Then, find a way to build it.
