In 2025, a record 906 cyclists across 65 teams participated in the 18th Annual Cypress Challenge. Founded by Geoffrey Glotman and Myriam Glotman in 2008, the event has raised more than $6 million for research and care initiatives. Last year, participants raised an unprecedented $825,000 for BC Cancer, continuing the event’s legacy of community-driven impact.

Each year, more than 67,000 Canadians across Canada are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer – nearly 800 people in British Columbia. Now in its 19th year, the Cypress Challenge continues to unite riders, volunteers, families, and supporters in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Historically, pancreatic cancer has very few survivors to advocate for increased awareness and funding; the need for early detection, targeted treatment strategies, and research-driven innovation has never been greater.

Now in its 19th year, the Cypress Challenge continues to bring together riders, volunteers, and supporters for the annual climb in support of pancreatic cancer research. Funds raised contribute to research and initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes across the province.
