Part of the Maple Ridge Business Centre, the Maple Ridge Public Library and Leisure Centre project included the redevelopment of the leisure centre and theatre space, and is now the largest and best-equipped public library in the Fraser Valley. Centred around a park commons and a public plaza, the project includes an aquatic and fitness centre, band shell, and the Greg Moore Youth Centre.
Glotman•Simpson was challenged to build this cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete office and library on poor soil conditions, requiring the use of a cast-in-place concrete raft (MAT) foundation as a major structural component.
