The Burn Fund Centre’s key purpose is giving patients and their families from throughout BC and the Yukon a place for accommodation while undergoing treatment at VGH and Children’s Hospital for burn injuries. For the 27% of patients and families from outside the Lower Mainland, the Centre, which also includes amenities such as a great room, library and kitchen, removes a big roadblock to recovery. The Burn Fund Centre will also offer Burn & Safety Awareness Education and Survivor Programs & Resources and be home to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund. Street level retail will help sustain the ongoing operation of the Centre.
